Testimonies: Tony and Kristen Lopes
We became involved with the Christian Life Movement through our son, Michael, about three years ago. Our journey began with going to CLM masses and then to a Family Retreat at St. Malo Retreat Center.
Besides the witness of Michael’s commitment to the Sodalit Spirituality, we were struck by the love, enthusiasm and reverence for our Catholic Christian faith evidenced in the Fraternas, the Sodalit brothers, and the other CLM members. Not only have we been challenged to grow spiritually and to deepen our prayer life, but the classes, homilies, retreats, and discussions with others have challenged us to grow intellectually as well. All of these experiences continually nudge us to go deeper into an encounter with our Lord and His Mother. While attending retreats we have heard the call from our Lord to walk the path to holiness, a journey up to that point we thought only the saints could partake in. We came to understand that through trusting His will, each of us can discover the very concrete ways He is calling us to be a part of His plan of salvation. Being around other Catholics who are living their life with joy influences us to be the same. It’s very comforting to share in that joy. Seeing this in others is a reflection of God’s love for us.Living the Sodalit Spirituality as CLM members we strive to live faithfully the teachings of the Catholic Church, to deepen our love for Mary as our model and most importantly, to follow and constantly seek reconciliation with Our Lord Jesus Christ. But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Is. 40:31
